Frequently Asked Questions

Walk-In Manager

  • How will I know when it’s my turn?

Watch the business’s public Walk-In Manager queue and stay nearby while you wait. Your position will move forward as other clients are served or leave. When a team member is ready for you, follow the business’s staff instructions so you do not miss your turn.

  • What should I do if the kiosk says no team members are available?

The business may not have an eligible team member available for a new walk-in at that moment. If the business has enabled an alternate booking option, the kiosk may show a booking link. Otherwise, ask the business whether you should try again later.

  • What happens if I leave before I am served?

Tell a team member if possible. The business can mark you as Walked Out, which removes you from the active waiting list and records that you left before receiving service. If you return after your check-in has been removed, check in again at the kiosk.

  • Do I need to download an app to join the walk-in queue?

No. Client check-in is handled through the business’s Walk-In Manager kiosk. You can join the waiting list without installing an app or creating a Walk-In Manager account.

  • How can I tell how many people are ahead of me?

The business’s public Walk-In Manager queue can show your name and the number of waiting clients ahead of you. Your position can change as clients are served or leave the queue.

  • How do I check in for a walk-in?

Use the business’s Walk-In Manager kiosk, enter your name as requested, and submit your check-in. You do not need to create an account or download an app. After checking in, confirm that you appear on the waiting list.

  • Will I still receive walk-in alerts if my phone is locked or the app is closed?

Supported push notifications are designed to alert you even when your phone is locked or the app is not open, provided notifications are enabled, your device has internet access, and its battery or background settings are not blocking alerts.

  • What does the kiosk show when no staff are available?

When no eligible team members are checked in or available, the kiosk can tell clients that no team members are currently available. If the business has enabled the option, the kiosk may also show a booking link as an alternative.

  • Can an owner remove a staff member who no longer works at the business?

Yes. Owners and managers can remove a team member from the business so that account can no longer participate in the walk-in rotation. Former staff should be removed promptly rather than leaving unused access active.

  • Can an owner change how long staff have to accept a walk-in offer?

Yes. Owners and managers can configure the walk-in offer response time in the business settings. Choose a time that gives staff enough opportunity to respond without making waiting clients wait unnecessarily.

  • What should I do if a waiting client leaves before being served?

Mark the client Walked Out from the waiting list. This removes the client from the active queue and records the correct outcome for reports. Do not mark the client completed if no service was provided.

    Share This:
  • Why can’t I mark a walk-in service complete yet?

Your business may have a minimum service-completion time enabled. If so, the Mark Complete option stays unavailable until the timer ends. This helps prevent services from being closed immediately just to return to the rotation.

  • What happens if I do not respond to a walk-in offer in time?

If the offer timer expires, Walk-In Manager may mark you temporarily unavailable so the client can be offered to another eligible team member. When you are available again, choose Ready to return to the active rotation.

  • Does passing a walk-in make me lose my place in the rotation?

No. Using Pass lets you decline that walk-in without giving up your place in the rotation. This is different from missing an offer entirely, which may mark you temporarily unavailable.

    Share This:
  • How is the daily staff rotation determined?

The daily rotation is based on the order eligible team members check in for that workday. The rotation resets each calendar day, so staff check in again when they return for a new day.

  • Who should use Walk-In Manager?

Walk-In Manager is designed for businesses that serve walk-in clients and need a fair, visible way to manage staff availability and client flow. Owners and managers control business settings, team access, the kiosk, and reports. Staff use it to check in, receive walk-in offers, pass when needed, complete services, and return to Ready status.
