In 2015, founder Derrick Marshall opened Kickback’s Barbershop & Salon in Matteson, Illinois. Running a barbershop gave him a firsthand look at the challenges surrounding the chair: helping new clients find the right professional, making the most of open appointment time, and keeping shared shop operations organized.
Haircut Now grew from that experience. What began as a better way to discover and connect with local barbers has expanded into practical technology for independent professionals and the people running their shops.
The goal has remained the same: make it easier to do business without taking away the independence that makes each barber and barbershop unique.

Derrick brings more than 30 years of automotive sales experience and over 25 years in sales management to Haircut Now. His career has centered on understanding customers, building relationships, and helping businesses grow.
He also knows the barbering business from the owner’s side. Since opening Kickback’s Barbershop & Salon in 2015, Derrick has worked alongside the professionals behind the chair and seen firsthand how local shops operate. That combination of sales leadership and shop ownership drives Haircut Now’s practical approach to technology.
